I certainly didn't embrace the truth as Jesus did, and it would have been dishonest to do so. I loved Jesus, but his truth was not my truth. Ultimately, I developed a better strategy to use when I wanted to present strong points for Christ. Rather than resorting to violence, I developed the strategy of using confrontation. When I felt that I was being attacked, rather than respond with violence I immediately responded with love. This seemed to be a much more persuasive way of working, and a much more effective way of creating a debate.The same principles apply to defending the faith of a Christian. It is not at all necessary to resort to acts of violence, nor is it necessary to resort to arguments that are tiring and disrespectful. Indeed, there are many types of debate tactics that can be used that won't seem quite as disrespectful as some other types of debate tactics.
